Content: Content that helps university English language teachers (around the world) improve their craft is warmly welcome. Some topic suggestions are: online teaching, student motivation, classroom management and teaching material design.

Language: All articles will need to be submitted in English.

Length: Ideally, articles should be longer than 800 words and no more than 1500 words.

Citations: Citations/research data are not necessary. If you do want to include some, please keep them to a minimum. Hyperlinks to certain pages are acceptable and advised for helping explain online tools and teaching concepts.

Supporting Materials: Articles should contain hyperlinks (files on Google Drive, etc) to lesson plansworksheets, and anonymous examples of student work when possible. Inclusion of such material increases the chance of publication.

Separate names with commas if there are multiple authors and put them in the order you wish for them to appear on the article
Please give the name of the university or educational institute that you work at
Please explain what it is you are struggling with as an English teacher at university here. For example, you may explain how your classes generally do not take part in online pair discussions when you ask them to. Please make sure to be specific (who, where, when, etc) and that it is relevant to English teachers in universities around the world. Then please explain your goal which you tried to achieve (for example, trying to motivate students and help them enjoy online pair discussions more). Please write in the first person throughout the article (‘I have problems with…’, as opposed to ‘Students make it difficult for teachers to…’).
Please explain how you applied your teaching idea here. It should be clearly connected to the teaching goal that you explain above. Please make sure that each step you undertook is very clear so that other teachers can replicate your idea for their own classes. You do not need to explain how effective your approach was here, just what it was that you did. Please do not use tables or figures. A list of steps is a good way to explain your approach in a concise way. Please write numbers 0-9 as words (one, two, etc) and 10 and above as numbers (10, 100, etc). In the box below, you will need to provide HYPERLINKS and details of any specific materials/websites that you used which are too difficult to explain in a short space.

Please give an honest, first-person reflection on how well your approach (second section above) worked to reach your teaching goal (first section above). It is more useful for other teachers to hear an honest account of pros and cons rather than trying to ‘sell’ an approach which may not help others. Start by explaining the pros. Give details of how it helped specifically with the teaching goal you described at the start of the article. Then please explain the cons of your approach. Give details of any problems which still existed and any others which may have occurred because of the approach you used. Try to give recommendations for teachers to use your approach more effectively if they chose to try it themselves. If you wish to show/give links to examples of student work which include personal data, such as names, please ensure that you have permission from all the students involved (and state that in the text).
